Our very own Legal Support Services Assistant, Elly Ferguson, will be taking part in the Air 13.1 Event in aid of Alzheimer’s Society.
Alzheimer’s is a progressive disease that gradually worsens over time and it affects a person’s memory, personality, identity and behaviour. Alzheimer’s Society is a UK charity that aims to improve the quality of life of people affected by the disease. Through their funding programmes and initiatives, they aim to change the lives of people affected by dementia.
Elly said: “I’m doing this for my Grandma who was diagnosed in December. Fundraising not only goes towards research but also schemes such as ‘companion calls’.
“This scheme aims to provide a much-needed chat and well-being check for those with Alzheimer’s who have been further isolated due to lockdown.”
Elly, alongside 50 of her Finders International colleagues, is also a Dementia Friend – an initiative run by Alzheimer’s Society that is about putting yourself in the shoes of someone living with the condition, meaning you can be more patient and understanding.
Elly will be running the half marathon on 25 October in Richmond Park. To donate to her page, you can visit her Justgiving link: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ellyhferguson
Good luck Elly!
